Declaration on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
General Provisions
This Declaration defines the principles, rules, and limitations regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the scientific journal in order to ensure academic integrity, transparency, responsibility, and compliance with ethical standards of scholarly publishing.
The Editorial Board acknowledges the potential of AI tools to improve the quality of scientific communication; however, it emphasizes that AI cannot replace human responsibility for the content, scientific novelty, and reliability of research results.
Definitions
Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to software systems or services capable of generating text, images, translations, data analysis, or other outputs based on machine learning algorithms and large language models.
Principles of AI Use
The use of AI in the processes of manuscript preparation, peer review, and publication is based on the following principles:
-
academic integrity;
-
transparency and openness;
-
responsibility of authors and the editorial board;
-
respect for copyright and intellectual property rights;
-
prevention of discrimination, manipulation, and distortion of scientific results.
Use of AI by Authors
Authors may use AI tools exclusively as auxiliary instruments, including for:
-
language editing and proofreading;
-
stylistic improvement of the text;
-
translation of manuscripts;
-
preparation of abstracts or keywords (under the author’s supervision).
The following is prohibited:
-
using AI to generate scientific results, conclusions, or interpretations without substantial human contribution;
-
submitting text that is wholly or predominantly generated by AI as original scientific research;
-
using AI to falsify data, experimental results, or bibliographic references.
Disclosure Requirement
Authors are required to disclose the use of AI in their manuscript. Relevant information should be included in the section "Methodology", "Acknowledgements", or in a separate statement, specifying:
-
the name of the AI tool used;
-
the purpose of its use;
-
the nature of the AI contribution.
The use of AI does not grant it the status of an author or co-author of the article.
Use of AI by the Editorial Board and Reviewers
The Editorial Board may use AI tools for:
-
plagiarism detection;
-
identification of potentially AI-generated content;
-
technical editing and classification of submissions.
Reviewers are not permitted to upload manuscripts or parts thereof to third-party AI services if this violates confidentiality obligations or personal data protection policies.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
The use of AI must not result in the disclosure of confidential information or personal data of authors, reviewers, or third parties. The Editorial Board takes measures to comply with applicable data protection legislation.
Responsibility
Authors (or groups of authors) bear full responsibility for the content of the submitted manuscript, the accuracy of data, and compliance with ethical standards. Violation of this Declaration may constitute grounds for rejection of the manuscript, retraction of a published article, or the application of other editorial measures.
Final Provisions
This Declaration is binding for all participants in the editorial and publishing process. The Editorial Board reserves the right to amend and update this policy in response to the development of AI technologies and international recommendations in the field of scholarly publishing.
