Theoretical principles of ensuring the development of the regions of modern Ukraine in the conditions of global challenges and threats

The article substantiates the relevance of scientific research. An analysis of the latest research and publications was carried out. The peculiarities of the regional development of modern Ukraine, in particular its economic aspect, are revealed, and practical recommendations are given to create the necessary conditions for ensuring the balanced development of Ukraine's regions. Taking into account modern domestic realities, the concept of "region" in the context of organizational-economic and political-legal relations, "regional development", "economic development of the region", "sustainable development of the region", "state regional policy" is revealed. The region is considered as a constituent element of the economic system of Ukraine. The main conditions for the effective development of the region have been determined. The relationship between the economic and social development of the region is substantiated. The specific characteristics of the region that should be taken into account in the process of developing target development programs are considered. The general strategic goals of the region's development are defined and a set of measures that will contribute to their achievement is given. The classification of factors determining the sustainable development of the regional economy is given. It was determined that the basis of the policy of economic growth at the regional level should be an innovative and reproductive approach, which provides for the most rational use of innovative potential and production resources. The factors shaping the dynamics of interregional asymmetry are given. The results of monitoring the socio-economic development of the regions for 2021 were analyzed in such areas as: "Economic and social cohesion", "Economic efficiency", "Investment and innovation development and foreign economic cooperation". On the basis of the analysis carried out in order to create a number of necessary conditions to ensure the further dynamic, balanced development of the regions of Ukraine, appropriate proposals and recommendations were made to the ministries and other central bodies of executive power and regional state administrations. In the context of this study, promising directions for further theoretical and practical research are defined.
